Blowbars

The Horizontal Shaft Impactor basically can be reduced to a single important component: the rotor.

The rotor is accurately checked by the manufacturer for a proper balance. It is very important to verify that the equilibrium of the rotor is maintained through the campaign of the crusher.

If the rotor is not equilibrated the crusher can be damaged by vibrations.

The stability of the foundation where the crusher is set has to be very strong to allow the proper stability and rigid needed.

The HIS (Horizontal Shaft Impactor) they operate at a very high speed (1,000; 1,500; 3000 revolution per minute). In certain cases we will have the primary crusher with a speed of approx 500 rounds a minute to a pulverizer up and above 3000 rounds/minute.

Due to their mechanism the HIS have the tendency to generate a good amount of air inside the chamber and also fines do to their impact action.

On of the most important goal in an HSI installation is to neutralize or limit the production of dust.

In the case of a plant that works with a classification and separation system the problem of the fines is resolved.

In the case of an HIS that work in an open cycle becomes crucial to research fine tuning to limit the formation of fines and dust.

In an open cycle will be very important to reduce the amount of air moved inside the chamber blocking somehow the feeding mouth and on the other end (output) you should guarantee a big expansion chamber.

The key for a good and productive use of the HSI is a good maintenance schedule. The quality of the material in output depends on maintaining sharp edges of the wear parts.

Critical components for the HSI are the Blow Bar. Our range of alloys from medium to hi-chrome with or without resistance insert contribute to maintain the contour of the blow bars and increase the resistance of abrasion.
