The fall of the Berlin Wall may have not only freed many Eastern European countries from the control of command economies but also freed many Western European countries from being dominated by US consumer markets. As the new markets are emerging, the longer established west - led by Germany, France and Italy – is benefiting from the eastern desire to industrialize rapidly.

Friday's stock gains were fueled by a strong employment report, suggesting that the economy has enough strenght to avoid recession.
Employers added 110,000 jobs last month. The details of the  governament data predict that the economy is downshifting to a slower speed.
The USA economic growth is slowing as the deteriorating housing market and credit-market turmoil take a roll.
An average of 74000 jobs per month were created in the private sector.
Forcasters estimate that the economy grew at an annual rate of 3.1% in the third quater downfrom second quarter's 3.8%.
The unticipated decline in payrolls in august that was reported last month contributed to the fed decision to cut interest rates by 1/2 of a percentage point at their September meeting.
The Fed said consumer borrowing grew 6% in August from a year eralier,the fastest in three months.

Euro-zone factories buzzed with unespected strong output in July and August,suggesting that the region is coping well with higher interest rates and the strong Euro.

In particular France,Italy and Germany showed a strong output for the first two months of the third quarter.

Italian industrial output for August beat expectations,rising 1.3% from July and 3% from a year earlier,its largest annual gain since December 2006,as production of textiles,clothingand plastics soared,statistic office Istat said.

Easy stroke adjustment for GP300 cone crushers

Metso Minerals now offers externally adjustable strokes for its Nordberg GP300 and GP300S cone crushers.This tecnology make it possible an easy changing of eccentric bushing positions without dismantling the crusher.

Traditionally, stroke adjustment in a cone crusher has not been used to optimize production in crushing plants. This is mainly due to the difficulty in accessing the eccentric bushing, as the top frame and main shaft need to be dismantled. However, the stroke influences cone crusher performance in several significant ways. Not least among these is that in varying operational conditions, choosing the right stroke (larger/smaller) provides an opportunity to maximize the end-product capacity and product shape with the GP300 and GP300S cone crushers.

The hunt for gold copper and other precious minerals is shifting to a new frontier: the ocean floor.
Mining companies have long known the world's ocean floor cover with vast sources of metals including zinc,silver and other commodities currently in high demand.
The global boom in commodity prices has encouraged mining companies to take another look at undersea mining.
Nautilus Minerals Inc ( Canadian company) has focused on deposits left over from " black smokers" or chimney shaped structures that form after underground magma pushes mineral-laden fluids trough cracks in the sea floor.
Neptune Minerals ( London based company) has launched its own deep-sea-minerals project off the coast of New Zealand and other offshore ventures may follow.
Bringing minerals to the surface poses a big challenge . On land, mining companies use excavators,trucks and other tools to dig up and haul it to processing center.
The key revenue source at Nautilus's first project will be copper that has gone up dramatically from 2002 levels.
